Indexa Philosopher is the first of three highly influential EPs released by Tim Prezzano, as Nev in the mid 1990s. Having released the heavily sought after 12” Deep Beep in 1991, Tim moved onward to expand his sound in the next several years by writing his own music software (programming was one of his hobbies) to bring new life to his hardware synthesizers. The homebrew applications took Nev’s tracks into a new realm. Combining elements of Deep House, Bleep Techno and Machine Funk, Nev created a unique sound from his NY home studio, whose influence is reflected in the work of his contemporaries such as Luke Slater and Terrace and echoing outward to Ben UFO and beyond.
