Celestino is the project of Portland based musician Gabriel Celestino Higgins. This latest offering, Beyond Enemy, expands the sound world he created so vividly on his previous edition for A Guide To Saints, Kindling.

Darker than its predecessor, Beyond Enemy draws out the textural harmony of his previous records into decidedly heavier territories. A vague industrial overtone reigns throughout much of this edition, a smoggy beauty akin to light caught in tainted cloud. The edges of the tones are also subtly serrated, splicing at each other with a restless drive.

Occasionally composers can generate an environment that is utterly personal yet still invitational to the listener – Celestino is one such artist capable of doing this.
